Membership
Charities Internal Audit Network (CIAN) is dedicated to developing excellence in the field of internal audit within the voluntary sector. This provides the opportunity to share skills and experience through networking, meetings, workshops and training.
Membership of CIAN is free and available to any charitable or not for profit organisation. Each charity has one representative, who must be working in the field of internal audit or with responsibility for internal control, who may attend meetings. Further members within that charity can also be registered so they can attend meetings, receive notifications and utilise the CIAN website.

Quarterly meetings at which expert speakers talk on topical subjects, followed by a group discussion and an informal networking session

Access to the CIAN directory, listing all members, their Internal Audit department and charity composition and their contact details

Subsidised training courses for Internal Auditors at member organisations

Annual CIAN Benchmarking Survey participation and data

CIAN library of audit templates, publications and presentations

Free advertising for Internal audit vacancies within member organisations

Links to other relevant organisations and forums for example charity retail auditors, information security groups and the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors
Membership eligibility criteria means that CIAN does not accept as members: Trustees, employees, or contracted individuals who are not responsible for internal audit, internal control, or risk management, and professional firms who are engaged to provide internal audit or risk management services to a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
In order to use our website, please register a user account (by clicking the login button and then the 'sign up' option), which will be approved upon verification against our data that the organisation you represent is one of our member charities. Please make sure you use your work (charity) email and not a personal email address.
